These SMS Terms describe the HealthBook ME text-messaging program, operated by HealthBook, LLC ("HealthBook," "HealthBook ME," "we," "us," or "our") and delivered through our messaging provider, Twilio. They supplement our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
Program description
HealthBook ME sends text messages to support the features you use, including:
- Crisis alerts (SOS) — notifying the Trusted Contacts you have chosen when you ask for help;
- Appointment reminders — for sessions and appointments you book;
- Referrals — connections from your care team;
- Peer Support — coordination of peer connections;
- Account and service notifications — related to the features above.
Consent
By providing your mobile phone number and enabling notifications in the app, you agree to receive text messages from HealthBook ME at that number, sent via an automated system. Consent to receive marketing texts is not a condition of using the Services. You may use the Services without SMS by managing your notification settings, though some coordination features rely on messaging.
Trusted Contacts you designate may receive a text from HealthBook ME when you start a crisis alert. You are responsible for having a reasonable basis to contact the people you add.
Message frequency
Message frequency varies based on your activity and the features you use (for example, when you start a crisis alert or have an upcoming appointment).
Message and data rates
Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan. HealthBook does not charge for the messages themselves, but your carrier's standard rates apply.
Opt out — reply STOP
You can cancel SMS at any time by replying STOP to any message. After you send STOP, we will send a confirmation and then stop sending texts. You may continue to receive non-SMS communications and can still use the Services. To resume messages later, opt back in through the app or reply START.
Help — reply HELP

Carriers
Supported carriers may vary. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message delivery is not guaranteed and may be affected by factors outside our control.
Privacy
Information related to text messaging is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We do not sell your personal information, and we share phone numbers with our messaging provider (Twilio) only to deliver the messages you have enabled.
Changes
We may update these SMS Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the messaging program after changes take effect means you accept the update.
